Well-rounded design
Anyone who has browsed through an interior design magazine or furniture store lately can’t escape the latest trend – couches with gracefully curved arm rests, coffee tables with smooth or wavy edges, and even armchairs have taken on a rounded form. Classic, clear lines have once again given way to harmonious curves for a softer look. And not just for people – pet accessories follow the trend too.
Dogs, cats and rodents like their comfort, which owners are more than happy to provide. Four-legged friends love to snuggle in cosy baskets with fluffy cushions and blankets or soft, comfortable couches. Cosy sleeping huts and nests are very popular with hamsters, guinea pigs and other small animals. Beds, accessories and scratching posts with soft curves are increasingly popular with both pets and their owners. After all, pets influence how we furnish our homes. Dog sofas and cat trees should also be trendy, look good and match existing furnishings. It’s easy to combine a great look with maximum comfort for your pet.
You can be sure that your pet will sleep as if on clouds by treating them to a soft couch with rounded edges or a cosy basket. Most cats love cosy sleeping caves, and scratching posts often reflect the curved trend too. Elegantly-shaped scratching furniture in natural materials harmoniously complements your home and gives kitty a place to climb and sharpen their claws.
Round is also the word for rodent enclosures. Small balls of hay provide a cosy spot to sleep, and the sleeping compartment should also be designed with comfort in mind. Hamsters and rats naturally also need an exercise wheel to inspire these agile rodents to move – now that’s the life. Rodents also need plenty of nest-building material such as special hamster cotton, which they can used to build a wonderful bed. This is usually round – because it's the most comfortable shape, just like in nature.
