Our Staff

All of the staff are specially trained as Pet Experts, and hired specifically for their personal interest in animals. 99% of Maxi Zoo staff are pet owners themselves! Tony Cross, Managing Director, says:

Maxi Zoo is Ireland’s number one pet retailer with eighteen stores, located in counties: Tipperary (Clonmel), Carlow, Waterford, Cork (Ballincollig, Midleton & Douglas), Dublin (Blanchardstown, Finglas, Tallaght, Liffey Valley, Clarehall & Leopardstown), Kildare (Naas, Newbridge & Maynooth), Wicklow (Bray), Limerick and Longford.

Maxi Zoo Ireland is owned and operated by husband and wife team Tony and Alice Cross, and headquartered in Ballincollig, Cork.

Maxi Zoo Ireland opened its first store in Ballincollig, Cork in 2006. The company currently employs 160 staff.

Maxi Zoo Ireland supports numerous local animal welfare charities and has established relations with the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, Dogs Trust and many other Animal Charities & rehoming centres in Ireland.

Maxi Zoo were the winners of TV3’s “Every Job Counts” initiative in 2011.

Maxi Zoo is REI Pet Store of the year 2016.

Maxi Zoo encourages customers to bring their pet along when shopping to avail of a free weighing service, plus a “try before you buy” policy on sized items such as collars or harnesses.
