When you are getting ready to go for walkies or do some dog training, you should not forget one of the most important pieces of gear: the snack or treat pouch. After all, the training of dogs works best with rewards – and with dogs, that usually means food. A praise, accompanied by a little treat, confirms that the dog has done something right.

Dog dry food and dog treats are suitable rewards for feed pouch training. The dog snacks should be sized according to your dog – that is, big bits for a little Chihuahua are not advisable for training. Dogs should be able to chew the snacks from the feed pouch without problems and without swallowing hard pieces. However, you should only fill the snack pouch with dry treats. Hard chewable items that your dog can choke on are not suitable.

Don’t forget to include the food in the total food intake for the day: the snacks from the feed pouch are a supplement to the usual dog food and must not become an “unhealthy” snack for the dog.
